Fun Friday Finds

Anyone else have a problem wanting to clear out an online store because they have too many random quirky things? No, hear me out. The random things you see in Instagram posts that would make such a cute room accent piece: tiny vases etched with geometric patterns, handmade Moroccan lamps, large ampersand wall hangings, even those salt and pepper shakers shaped like cute animals.

I can’t really help it, I want to be one of those people with all those cute quirky things, but that would require an endless bank account. Soon, instead, I’ve made a list of items from Dot & Bo that I just can’t get enough of.

Mickey and Minnie Comfy Clothes

Minnie Mickey Disney Leggings

To continue my love of leggings, I created one inspired by my favorite place, Disney World. Basically what I would wear if I was going down to Florida to visit my mom and wanted to drag her to the park, this is what I’d imagine I’d be wearing.

I Cried at Crossfit | Everproven Crossfit 1.20.15

In class last night at Everproven, we worked on thrusters, basically squatting with your barbell and weights, then as you stand up, bringing it all the way above your head with your elbows locked out.

In my intro class, I had a quick “this one is the women’s bar, this one is the men’s bar” introduction to the equipment, but I never understood the difference, which is probably why I panic during class when we work on weights. (I’m also pretty sure no one will let me use a trainer bar even though I really need it, and I’m too scared to ask for the lighter bar.) Continue Reading

Paleo Breaded Chicken Wings

IMG_1655.JPGTwo of our friends are taking the Paleo/Whole 30 plunge. I’m proud of them. Like Andy and I, they, too, enjoy a cold beer, Chinese food, and well… anything bad for you that tastes so so good. And when they heard about how Andy and I were actually pretty successful at making meals feel like you weren’t suffering, they agreed to come over our house for the football game – Paleo food only served.

Which is exactly how I came up with these Paleo breaded chicken wings. Now stop right there. They are approved. My secret? Almond flour. All the crispy crunch of a breaded wing, without the bad stuff. Continue Reading
