I haven’t worn a watch since I was in high school. Why not? Oh, because I had a cellphone after that point and used it – as most of us do – as a traveling clock. I mean, why wouldn’t you. The problem is that you get used to checking your phone all day. And as a self-proclaimed social media addict, I have to say it doesn’t help the situation. Once I check the time, I look to see if I’ve received any text messages and if there isn’t a notification, I open my phone anyway to see if I had a Facebook notification. No Facebook notification? Well, someone on Twitter must have mentioned me. No? How about Instagram, let me open up that app. And then I noticed it’s been so long that I have to check the time again. So you see, it’s a viscious cycle and a complete time waster. If anything, this year I’m going to try to make more me time. Yes, yes, we’ve all said it.
