June Stitch Fix Unboxing | Polka Dots and Pink

I am over the moon about Stitch Fix. When my friend Laurenne first told me about it, I was skeptical. I had a not as exciting experience with another fashion monthly subscription service, the company didn’t seem to take my likes and dislikes into consideration. But even so, I had given Stitch Fix a chance, and I’m so glad I did!

I think the difference is that Stitch Fix stylists take the time to review the questionnaire everyone fills out in the beginning (what trends you like, colors, size, fit, etc.). However, they also took a look at my Pinterest account (click here to see the inspiration board they viewed). Clearly they saw my love of stripes and polka dots!

Skies Are Blue Fuchsia Tula Keyhole Detail Blouse – $48

I don’t normally choose bright colors like this fuchsia, but I have to say I adore the color. The only problem I had was that the blouse did this funky pleat thing above the chest and I just couldn’t bring myself to keep it if I kept thinking about the pleating. Otherwise, super comfortable, great fit and the color looked great on!

Pixley Navy Hanneli Polka Dot Swing Skirt – $54

How adorable is this skirt?!? Total keeper! Sits perfectly on my natural waist, flows as I twirl and is super comfortable. I just want to wear this every day with cardigans and white button-ups and skip down the cobblestone in flats. Even Andy said he loved it.

Stitch Fix Polka Dot

Kut from the Kloth Black Francesco Maxi Dress – $58

I really want to love this maxi, but no matter what I did, it just didn’t sit well on my waist. It’s super soft, very comfortable, but the material just wasn’t flattering for my shape. Such a bummer because I didn’t want to take it off. I’m super excited to get a maxi in my box though, a sign my stylist took the time to look at my Pinterest board which is full of them. However, back to Stitch Fix it went.

Romolo Silver Montana Metal Starburst Necklace – $34

I cringed when I pulled this one out of the box. It seemed heavy and awkward sitting there, but when I put it on, it wasn’t so bad. Still not my taste, but looked stunning on. I really loved pairing it with the maxi dress, a suggestion by my Stitch Fix stylist. Glad I took it, but I’m not keeping the necklace sadly.

Market & Spruce Navy Corinna Striped Dolman Top – $48

Pulling this out of my Stitch Fix box, it was as if I had pulled this sweater out of my own closet. Totally up my alley, but really looks like most everything I own: striped, navy, and dolman. If the sleeves were a bit baggier I probably would have kept it, but really didn’t think I needed another one of these sweaters, especially when it’s boiling hot out lately. Not really a summer item.

Verdict

Love it! Even though I’m only keeping one item, I’m still super psyched about Stitch Fix and how well my stylist selected items for me. She selected items I wouldn’t normally pick out for myself, but always eye. It’s easy for me to dress other people, but I always have trouble with myself, so this really opened my eyes to options for myself.

May Wantable Fitness Unboxing Video

Since starting Crossfit, I’ve been having a hard time finding workout clothes that I like. What I’d normally wear to go running, doesn’t quite fit it for Crossfit, so I tried this subscription surface called Wantable. I heard mixed reviews, some ladies loved it, some hated it.

You’re basically hiring a stylist to select clothes for you, then using that payment ($20) to purchase new workout clothes. I didn’t fall in love with anything, but I certainly found a few items that I liked.

I think my biggest frustration was that I ordered it mid-month and didn’t receive my box until today, June 1. I also asked for a colorful collection, but most of what I received was dark, black, or grey. I see all these boxes with bright colors and I feel like I got duped.

Anyway, I do want to try it again next month, give it one more go. Since I do like a few of the items, I’m not completely throwing in the towel. I do need more workout clothes since I’m going a few times a week, so I think it’s worth it to get a few more pieces.

If your curious about Wantable, try it out and let me know what you think. You can sign up here (click), take a short quiz about your style preferences, and pay the $20. Yes, if you don’t buy anything, you’ll lose your $20, but then might I suggest only doing this if you’re really sure you want to buy something. I had items that were $38 dollars in my edit. Not bad, and affordable. So I think it’s a good test for a subscription of this type for fitness wear.

And if you’re still not sure, watch my unboxing video below:

My May Fitness Wantable Box

(Preferences I mentioned in my styling quiz)
Loved: lowest prices, bright colors, pants, tops, “In the Gym” clothes
Liked/On the Fence: Neutral colors, hoodies/jackets, “Running” clothes
Dislike/Don’t Want: Undergarments, medium or high priced items, “Yoga” clothes

What I got in my order:
Climawear Waist Control Berry Pink Space Dye Capri – $38*
Mono B Capri Workout Leggings – $46
Mono B Cardio Tank – $38*
Pink Lotus Get Down Lace Inset Tank – $35
Colosseum Wince Training Capri Blossom – $69*

*Items I’m considering buying. P.S. The lace top looked ridiculous on, and the space dye pants are super high on the waist (but comfy).

How Wantable Works:
Spend $20 for a personalized fitness edit. Wantable sends you five articles of clothing, you pay for only what you want. Your $20 is used toward any purchase you make. Buy everything, save 30% off your order. Buy 3-4 items, save 20%.

LOFT Safari Fashion

Every time I go to work at LOFT, I feel like I’m about to go on a Safari. I’m not complaining, I actually really love everything about the new Safari-themed line. There’s bright colors, fun prints, and pieces that I actually am obsessing over. It’s the first time in a long time that I’ve really loved over 75 percent of the clothes coming in. Let’s be honest, you can’t love everything.

Wantable Fitness Subscription Test

So, it’s starting. I’m taking the leap to try the Wantable Monthly Fitness Edit. What it means is I’m willingly shelling out $20 for the company to “style” me a box of 5 fitness items (tops, workout shoes, pants, shorts, etc.) I receive five items in the mail, try on everything, and send back what I don’t want. I put the $20 I paid toward whatever items I purchase.

Now, I’m skeptical. I’ve watched a lot of really varying reviews about the service, from one woman who clearly did not know what she was committing to and hated it, to the lady who is pretty much going to purchase everything the sent her (even though it was going to cost her over $250).

But I’m in need of more workout clothing. I’m obsessed with my Victoria’s Secret workout pants, but would love to see what’s out there. It’s getting kind of sad that I wear the same pair, every time I work out. I love them, but if they’re anything like the yoga pants, I’m going to need a few more pair and I’d love to see what else is out there. I just don’t have the time to shop.

The beauty is, all I had to do was spend a little time telling them the price range I was willing to spend, what types of items I’d like to receive (tops, hoodies, pants, undergarments, etc.) and if I preferred neutral colors and/or vibrant brights.

So in the next few weeks I’ll give all of you an update on what I receive in my fashion fitness subscription, what I think about the service, and if I actually buy anything from them. Until then, feel free to check out their site buy clicking here! If you order, let me know what you think!
